General Terms and Conditions PESM 2024, June 10th -12th, 2024 (“Conference”) 

Your agreement with PESM

These Terms constitute the agreement between PESM and the person who completes the Conference online registration form (“you” or “your”). These Terms govern your online registration, attendance at and/or participation at the Conference. By registering for the Conference you agree that you have read and accepted these Terms and agree to be legally bound by them. If you do not wish to be bound by these Terms, please do not register, attend or participate in the Conference. 

Registering on behalf of another 

If you are registering on behalf of another person, it is your obligation to make sure that the person attending is aware of these Terms and accepts them. By completing and submitting the registration form you are representing and warranting that you have made the person attending aware of these Terms and that they have accepted these Terms. 

Changes or cancellation of a conference by PESM 

In the event of postponement or cancellation of Conference PESM total aggregate liability to you is limited to the refund of the registration fees effectively paid, and PESM will not be liable to you for any expenditure, damage or loss incurred by you as a result of the cancellation or postponement. 

Changes or cancellation of your participation at the Conference

All purchases of Conference tickets are non-refundable in their entirety. Your ticket is personal. Reselling or otherwise transferring your ticket, will void the ticket and the ticket holder will not gain entry into the Conference, except if replacement is asked at the latest one month prior to the event at romina.degiorgi@imec.be. 

Admittance to conferences 

PESM, in its sole discretion, and without any liability or obligation to refund, reserves the right to refuse admittance to or to eject from the Conference anyone that PESM determines is behaving in a manner that could disrupt, hinder or cause a nuisance to the Conference or to the enjoyment of any other person at the Conference; represents an information security risk to imec or the Conference; represents a health & safety risk to the Conference or to any other person at the Conference e.g. through non-compliance with sanitary measures applicable at the time of the Conference; and/or fails to comply with, or is likely to fail to comply with, these Terms.

Liability, insurance

You are responsible for arranging your own appropriate insurance cover in connection with your attendance or exhibition at a Conference. PESM and its related companies will not be liable for any injury or damage to any person or to any real or personal property howsoever caused (except for death or personal injury as a result of PESM’s fault or for any other type of liability that cannot by law be excluded or limited).

PESM is not liable for errors resulting from the processing of the payment order via a third-party payment provider. 
You acknowledge and agree that views expressed by speakers at or in connection with the Conference are their own and PESM does not accept any responsibility or liability for any advice given or views expressed during or in connection with the Conference.

Participants are not allowed to make (audio)visual material of the presentations or speakers at the Conference. 
Materials shared or distributed at or in connection with the Conference are intended for information purposes only and should not be relied upon by you or others. PESM and its related companies do not provide any guarantees, conditions or warranties that the materials are complete or accurate and do not accept any responsibility or liability for reliance by you or any person on any aspect of the Conference and/or any information provided at the Conference.

PESM is not liable if the Conference is, in whole or in part, cancelled, rescheduled or postponed, or for any failure or delay to perform its obligations under these Terms, if such event results from anything beyond its reasonable control (for example, natural disasters, pandemic, flood, fire, acts of terror, war, labour strike, extreme weather malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, or mechanical, electronic or communications failure or degradation, or any other emergency) or anything else that renders performance of the Conference, in whole or in part, impracticable, illegal or impossible. 
On the website of the Conference, a number of hotels are proposed without obligation. Booking these hotels is at your own risk, imec does not guarantee the quality of the services provided by these hotels.

Privacy

PESM is committed to protecting your personal information. These Terms include and incorporate by reference PESM’s privacy policy, which explains the types of information collected (including photography, audio and video recording), stored, shared and processed in connection with the relevant Conference, how and why imec uses such information, who imec  shares it with and your legal rights.
